Since the start of the Covid lockdown around spring break, we had twelve weeks of online lessons which have been a real test of our tech savvy, but we made it through! Summer lessons for cello and piano were offered either online or in-studio, where social distancing is easy, and where an air flow between two open doors has been possible.
This summer session has helped to develop ways to teach in-studio safely, with distancing for piano, cello and theory lessons, and anticipating a surge of the virus when the fall comes, I'm requiring students who are in-studio to have the added precaution of a mask during the lesson, and of course I will wear one too. I've been impressed with how willing students have been to wear them, and I feel it's a respectful and helpful way to contribute to getting through the pandemic.
When we see what September holds, while it would be ideal to have everything back in the studio, we will of course follow any guidelines being given by the experts. Here's my YouTube video of how the studio is set up: https://youtu.be/KfF2RjhnB_M
Keep in mind that online lessons will always be an option for you, and these new online skills we've learned will make it much easier when you or your child has a cold, or it's a snow day, or a car giving trouble. And kids who are too sick for school are also too sick for music lessons - so online it is, if they're up to it! I'll be using my Zoom meeting number 511-965-0781: enter it, and you'll be in the Waiting Room. I'll join as soon as I can. If the previous student is in-studio, I may be a moment or two late because of changing formats and going upstairs to re-open Zoom. I've sent the password to you by email. Text me if you forgot!
This schedule will likely need some tweaks, especially if sports and other schedules resume in the fall. To hold your time, you will need to pay the September fee now in advance. Fees remain the same as last year, and are payable
Voice lessons! Now available online on Fridays, with my daughter Eve Daniell, who is living here again (during Covid) away from her performance career in the UK. Let me know if you're interested and I'll put you in touch - or email Eve at firstname.lastname@example.org
